I want it to
be just so...

Hello, my name is Jo Scott and I am an accredited Independent Funeral Celebrant at JustSo Ceremonies.

I work with you and your family to create bespoke services for your loved ones.

JustSo Ceremonies

I’m so sorry you have recently suffered a bereavement. I would be honoured to write a ceremony for your loved one, creative, original and a little bit different.

You and I will work together, using memories, humour and little quirks to capture your loved ones life story and give them a thoughtful, loving send-off. This will involve me meeting you with other family members and based on this, I will put together a bespoke service capturing the essence of your loved one’s life and personality.

‘Let's weave their story together’

I come from a performance background having been a professional actor, with good creative skills for writing and delivering the ceremony. Over the years I worked in a hospice and currently combine working in the community with dementia and older persons mental health with Celebrancy. I live on the south coast near the sea, with my husband, daughter and 4 rescue dogs.

Ceremonies Offered

Funerals

If you are looking for a more formal service. I will meet with you and we will talk about your loved one and your preferences. As an Independent Celebrant elements of religion such as readings, hymns or prayers can form part of the service, along with your music choices. There is a wealth of options to choose from to formulate a service that truly represents your loved and who they were as a person.

Celebration of Life

This ceremony runs less formally than a traditional funeral. Aspects of your loved one’s personality, likes and dislikes, favourite music and ideal readings or poems will be woven into the service to reflect the true character and essence of your loved one.

Funeral Options

Cremation

Service will be held at the Crematorium Chapel followed by a Cremation.

Burial

This will be a church service in a church yard taken by a vicar or priest.

Direct Cremation

This arrangement involves your loved one going directly to the Crematorium for an unattended cremation. Ashes collected by the family for a service, wake, or Celebration of Life at a later date.

Natural Burial

Your loved one is taken to a natural burial ground. Some local grounds have a venue for a service, but this can also be held graveside.

Planning own Funeral

I recently had the honour of helping a lady plan her own funeral. We were able to talk about her life and what she wanted in her service and she knew she had the send-off she wanted. This is delicately done and can be humorous at times too.

Memorials

Memorials are when the bereaved gather together to remember and honour their loved one with family and friends. There is no burial or cremation involved. I can help create a ceremony and conduct it for you, making suitable suggestions for readings, poetry and discussing music choices.

There are no restrictions to where or when the ceremony can be held, so we are able to be flexible and creative with providing the most personalised way to remember your loved one.

Interment of Ashes

This ceremony is held for placement of ashes in their final resting place. There are many options for this ceremony, which can be discussed and tailored to meet requirements.

Scattering of Ashes

This may be the final part of a Celebration of Life, where the family and Celebrant have created an individual ceremony that concludes with the scattering of ashes.

Jo , so many compliments coming for you from all over the midlands watching the webcast.  Everyone has phoned to say just how fantastic you are and everyone so very impressed.  They all have said you’re the best that they’ve ever heard.  My thanks yet again for a brilliant and first class ceremony, that just everyone has complimented you on .
